1973

Founded as TASS Service Co. Ltd.
Developed ERP system software with NEC. Provided data processing services to wholesalers and retailers using mainframe computer ACOS.

1977

Started computer development business.

1981

Changed the company name to Japan Computer Industry, Inc.

1984

Established Design & Manufacturing Center handling the entire process from development, sample making to production.
Opened Tokyo branch.

1991

Developed UNIX supporting print server, JC-CONNECT® 101.
Started network peripheral device business.

1993

Released JC-CONNECT® 101B, Japan's first print sever supporting multiple protocols.
Released JC-CONNECT® C-5000, Japan's first embedded print server for Canon LBP Laser Shot.

1994

Started OEM services of embedded print servers for network standard large printers.

1995

Opened an office in San Jose , USA

1998

Obtained ISO9002.
Developed JCI Falcon, Japan's first RISC ASIC with Toshiba for networking devices, and shifted to JCI Falcon included RISC based print servers.

1999

Opened an office in London, UK.
Opened an office in Beijing, China.

2000

Developed protocol stacks such as TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, AppleTalk and NetBEUI, and internet software such as HTTP, SMTP, POP and IPP, and modules such as SNMP and BSD Socket/RPC for embedded networking system.
Started fingerprint authentication business.
Moved the London office to Germany as a local office for the European market.
Established a local office in China.

2001

Started OEM license business of embedded network protocol stacks.

2002

Obtained ISO9001/2000 (JAN)
Established a US subsidiary, silex technology america, Inc. (MAR)
