We contribute to Development of the Network Society with these Two Core Technologies
Reliable network technologies and cutting-edge biometrics technologies —— We expand our business focusing on these two core technologies. We have gained the Japan No.1 positioning especially in the print sever field using the network technologies.
Print servers are necessary in the office LAN environment to manage printers on networks and feed data for printing. We entered this field earlier than any other companies in Japan in 1991. We realized "multi-protocol support", which does not depend on a kind of OS (i.e. basic software), for the first time in Japan with our proprietary control software. Thus, we have been always developing leading products in the industry. We will enter the global market aggressively to aim for the world No.1 in this field.
Also, in the biometrics field, we launched the fingerprint authentication technology using the image processing technology derived from the printer business. In 2001, we established our original "silex fingerprint analysis algorism". While marketing fingerprint sensors and fingerprint authentication software, now we introduce the fingerprint authentication technology for IC cards through collaboration with overseas companies. One of our current efforts is to develop a new authentication system with a smart card featuring privacy protection and high reliability. We expect this field will be one of our core businesses for our growth in the near future.
The whole society across the world has been networked rapidly. We live in the society, where, not to mention PCs and mobile phones, consumer electronics equipment such as refrigerators and televisions, and even home facilities including locks and water boiling equipment are on a network. Money transactions are also conducted through network terminals. In these processes, the personal authentication technology is essential in addition to the network control technology. Our superior network and fingerprint authentication technologies are the very key technologies in the network society. Our technology development skills developed since our foundation will respond to needs in the fast changing world.
