Environmental Policy
Our mission is to continuously provide the product and service that would make computer and network closer to people and that would give people a great excitement.We will contribute to realizing more affluent society through our business.
We recognize global environment conservation as our social responsibility based on the Corporate Philosophy. We faithfully observe the law and regulations, and proactively participate in conservation activities for coexistance with the environment.
- Establish and implement an environmental management system, improving it continuously to prevent environmental pollution.
- Abolish hazardous chemical sustances and provide environmentally friendly products.

Environmental Management System
ISO 14001 implementation
Our old Design & Manufacturing Center ("D&M Center"), which is now in, the Keihanna Headquarters, was certified under ISO 14001, an international standard for environmental management system, in March 2004. The following company-wide expansion of the initiative enabled us to be ISO 14001:2004 certified for the entire company, including the Head Office(now in the Keihanna Headquarters) and the Sales & Marketing Center in March 2006.

Environmental Activity
For environmental conservation activities in the company, silex has been working to reduce CO2 (electricity consumption), resources (paper consumption), and waste.
* It ages 2008 and manages with a rate of recycling.
Environmental Education
To raise awareness of environmental issues among employees (including part-time and temporary staff) and promote initiatives to address them, we offer environmental education in new employee training, technical training, internal auditor training, and other general training opportunities.
Environment Friendly Manufacturing
Response to RoHS Directive
silex is working to completely abandon the chemical substances regulated by the RoHS directive, such as lead and cadmium, and other hazardous chemical substances that we have established environmental standards for. We are implementing this activity throughout all divisions related to manufacturing (Sales, Design, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance).
We have been delivering RoHS compliant products (also compliant to silex's original environmental standards) since June 2004, and as of January 2008, all of our products, except for certain OEM products, are compliant with the RoHS Directive.
- RoHS Directive
- The RoHS Directive, which came into force in the EU on July 1, 2006, restricts the use of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) in electrical and electronic equipment.
Response to WEEE Directive
silex is working to collect/recycle the product regulated under WEEE directives. We have been attaching the LOGO below on all the products since August 13, 2005.

- It is the EU directive to oblige the manufacturer to collect/recycle the electrical and electronic equipment used by consumers.
silex Eco Label
Our products with this logo on their packages or in the advertisements such as brochures meet our environmental guidelines.
